Page 1 of 2 Installing glued or adhesive laminate flooring is quite similar to that for a floating floor. Here's how it's done:
Step 1: Select your starting wall and make sure the subfloor is ready for the adhesive.
Step 2: Spread the adhesive following the manufacturer's recommendations. In most cases, adhesive is spread liberally and the excess removed to a final depth of about 1/4 in.
Step 3: Lay the first full piece with the small-tongue side facing the wall.
Step 4: Place 1/4-in. spacers between boards and walls to allow for board expansion.
Step 5: Continue laying the first row until you need to cut a board to finish it.
Step 6: Measure the distance between the wall and the edge of the last board, subtract 1/4-in. (spacer), and cut the board. The piece left over will start the next row.
Step 7: Begin the second row of boards with the trim from the last row (if more than 10 in.) .
